Doormat for Donald: Joe Lombardo About to Stumble Into General Election

Joe Lombardo is about to stumble into the general election with zero real accomplishments of his own — focused solely on being Donald Trump’s doormat. As Lombardo caves to Trump every chance he gets, he’s going to have to answer for putting his cost-raising agenda over hardworking Nevadans.

Under the Lombardo-Trump economy, costs are up, tourism is plummeting, and Nevada’s unemployment rate is the worst of any state in the nation. In fact, the unemployment rate is now higher than when Lombardo took office in 2023. Given his broken promises and failing record, it makes sense that Lombardo said himself that he’s “concerned” about his re-election prospects.

Here’s a look at Joe Lombardo’s disastrous record that leaves Nevada families behind and jacks up cost:

  • Devastating unemployment: On Lombardo’s watch, Nevada’s unemployment rate is the worst of any state in the nation and GOP policies only threaten to keep that number growing as tourism and travel to the state continue to nosedive.

  • Embracing Trump’s health care cuts: Lombardo endorsed Trump’s plans to raise ACA premiums and force 115,000 Nevadans off their health care, all while opposing the state public option that is more affordable. He even said Nevadans should be “excited” about the GOP budget betrayal despite our state being one of the hardest hit by the bill’s funding and health care cuts.
  • Promising “pain” for Nevadans: After Lombardo told Nevadans to “feel a little pain” from Trump’s erratic trade agenda, he said families don’t deserve a refund for these illegal tariffs that cost households an extra $1,700 last year and that it would be “malpractice” to stand up against Trump’s price-increasing tariffs.

  • Raking in Big Pharma cash: Lombardo took hundreds of thousands of dollars in Big Pharma cash after vetoing bills that would have reduced prescription drug costs all while he backs Trump’s budget that guts Nevadans health care and risks shuttering four hospitals as other hospitals cut services in response.

  • Blocking guaranteed school meals: After Lombardo blocked students’ access to guaranteed school meals and suggested that feeding our children is a waste of money, he celebrated Trump’s budget bill that will gut food assistance for tens of thousands of Nevadans.

  • Worsening housing crisis: As Nevadans struggle to afford rent and buy homes, Lombardo vetoed affordable housing bills that would stop Wall Street firms from pricing working Nevadans out of home ownership and prevent landlords from abusing tenants.
